It's All About GigaMare



Giga came from the Greek word gigas which means ‘giant’ while Mare is the Latin word for ‘sea’. GigaMare is a Maritime training center that provides a different approach in terms of Maritime training, they take advantage on using technology as one of their main tool in their services. Gigamare also aims to provide a different approach of Maritime training, since it is located in the forest of SBMA which is not a usual place specially for a Maritime training.

The IT Department



GigaMare has its own IT Department which supports the needs of the company in terms of technology needed such as 3D objects and images, The It department is divided into 4 categories, the Content Creators, The Web Developers, The Network Administrators, and the Newly 3D Content developers. Each of the Categories uses different technologies which is for Content Creators they are mainly focused on Adobe Products such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere, While the Web Developers are mainly focused on HTML, PHP(Laravel) and Javascript, And for the 3D Content developer they are using Blender and Unity for the task they are doing. The 3D content developers creates realistic representation of the Machines used in big ships aside from that they are also making Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality Simulations of this Machines and even though the 3D development team is new, it gave a big impact on the company, and luckily we are given a chance to be a part of the new 3D content developer team since this where we are going to render our OJT hours.

The Perks of Being a Trainee at GigaMare


Aside from the kindness and the knowledge they are giving to the trainees they also provide different kinds of perks such as the unlimited brewed coffee, daily free lunch with lots of meals, free transportation since GigaMare is a little bit far and the 200 pesos daily allowance for all of their trainees, this how generous they are thats why we are very thankful to be a part this company even for a little span of time given to us. And aside from this material things they are also very friendly and thoughtful not just with their co-workers but even with us trainees.
